May Babcock's "Sea of Secret Colors" Sale Starts Today!

January 3, 2023

May Babcock, an amazing paper artist and paper advocate, as well as an esteemed member of Hand Papermaking's Board of Directors, is launching her "Sea of Secret Colors" sale today -- November 30 -- at 11 am EST.

The sale presents a limited series of 18 small works that explore natural colors of seaweeds and the sea. These evocatively gorgeous paper works are offered for sale, now through Sunday, December 4th at 11pm ET, using PAY-WHAT-YOU-WILL (PWYW) pricing.

As May explains: "I’m being a bit counter-culture and choosing PAY-WHAT-YOU-WILL (PWYW) pricing for these artworks, so that you name the price. This is because I believe that everyone should be able to access nature, joy, and art in their life. Maybe I’m a bit of an idealist, but I want to be generous and to see more generosity in the world."

(As another example of May's natural and sincere generosity in sharing her love of paper art, she will be committing 10% of all sales to support a good cause: Hand Papermaking's year-end fundraising campaign.)

For instructions on how the PWYW SALE works, visit the sale page at: https://www.artworkarchive.com/rooms/may-babcock/e73766.
