The paper swatches accompanying this article consist of roughly 80% Ghanaian paper mulberry and 20% cotton textile waste collected from local seamstress and tailor shops. The papers were produced by participants in the collaborative initiative of the Krataa Foundation and the Forestry Commission of Ghana, at the Forestry Commission Training Center in Akywkrom-Ejisu, Ghana. The cotton rag was pulped in a Hollander Valley beater; the paper mulberry was hand beaten. The sheets were formed on European-style moulds and deckles fabricated in Ghana, and restraint dried. Locally grown okra was used as a formation agent.
