Dear Friends and Subscribers,
Michael Fallon will be stepping down as Executive Director (ED) of Hand Papermaking, Inc at the end of this month. We so appreciate the energy and enthusiasm Michael brought to the organization and we wish him the best in his future endeavors.
I quote Michael’s resignation letter to our board: “I have truly enjoyed my seven years of work at Hand Papermaking, a small nonprofit that punches far above its weight. The work has been, while busy, always very gratifying and meaningful. The support we offer to amazing artists both young and old and around the world, the passion with which we publish the stories of this ancient art form, the beauty and intelligence of the work that we produce — I believe all of this makes an important difference in a harried, ambivalent, and often troubled world.”
We are now launching a national search for a new ED and have posted a detailed job description with the required qualifications on our website, which can be found here.
We welcome your suggestions and nominations, and hope to find a strong candidate within our vibrant papermaking community. We appreciate your support of Hand Papermaking over the years and look forward to the next chapter of our organization’s evolution.
Marie Bannerot McInerney
Chair of the Board of Directors
