I first met Elena del Rivero in a bar in the East Village, in late 2022, via a mutual friend. I was thrilled at my luck in meeting del Rivero whose massive project Letters to the Mother was already on my mind at the time because I was ruminating on the themes for "Fiery Fodder," an exhibition about the vast and intense range of feelings about the Mother that I was curating for Bushel Collective in Delhi, New York.
